Find a quiet area in your house where your child will not be distracted by others. Headphones work well to help with distractions.
Make this area your child's "learning" spot.
Have all necessary materials within reach. (Art Box, Writing/Reading/Math Tool Kits)
Give your child a water bottle to be placed in the working area.
Make sure your child has eats breakfast prior to 8am. Remember, there will be snack and lunch breaks.
HOW CAN I HELP MY CHILD BE SUCCESSFUL?
Treat virtual learning as if it is a regular school day.
Have a regular bedtime and wake up routine.
Place your child's lunch in their lunchbox and snack in a separate bag. (This is how we do it in school.)
Have your child get dressed each morning (Let them choose their virtual learning outfits.)
Try and keep the area around their "learning" spot as quiet as possible. The computers pick up noise and simple things such as unloading the dishwasher and talking on the phone can be distractions not only for your child but also their classmates.
If you notice your child needs a break, let them walk around for a few minutes. Then return to our virtual class.
Set timers, so you don't miss your child's small group instruction, as well as returning to our whole group lessons.
Read the class emails, as I will be sending a lot of information on the week's lessons.
PLATFORMS MY CHILD WILL BE USING
